In chapter 6, Nausicaa, Alcinous' daughter is introduced. Athene disguises herself as Dymas, Nausicaa's best friend and tells her to go wash all of her clothes that she doesn't wear in the river. While she is at the river, Odysseus wakes up and has no clue where he is so he asks Nausicaa for help, her being the first one he sees. Nausicaa takes him under her wing and cleans him up and gives him food and clean clothes to wear. While they are sitting on the seashore, Nausicaa tells Odysseus to go to Alcinous and ask him to be sent back home.
